You are welcome at the Office of Scholarly Publications, an initiative of the Office of the Provost. We began in 2006 to guide tenure-line faculty on the main campus to publish peer-reviewed research in the highest-impact journals and at first-tier university presses. Gradually the mission expanded to include faculty at the medical center, law center, and on our global campuses in Qatar, Italy, the UAE, and Indonesia. Although the focus is on the tenure line, Georgetown has always had distinguished faculty in other roles, so besides the tenure-line faculty, we welcome those who have political, legal, or other careers outside of Georgetown. This collegial process levels the field so that academics from any background, including first-gen faculty and global scholars from countries with different publishing priorities, can consistently and ambitiously publish their research at the highest level. Although it was originally conceived as a resource for early career scholars, more-established people found us from day one, including some of our best-published and most distinguished faculty, adding richness to the conversations by sharing their personal experiences of producing research publications in an ever-changing scholarly publishing landscape.
